• Individuals + Couples

Our initial sessions will be focused on building rapport and getting a better sense of your needs and goals. My approach to therapy is emotionally focused rather than intellectual. I use somatic (body-based) tools and active reflection to help guide you toward new insight and awareness. With couples, I take a directive approach to addressing dynamics within your relationship and support partners learning and practicing communication skills.

  • Children + Teens

My area of focus is on children 8 years and older. I believe children have the innate ability to arrive in therapy and know what they need, so I offer tools and a container to explore. For younger children, my approach is based in play, child centered engagement and expressive arts. For teens and older children, talking is often preferred. Caregiver/family involvement is always integrated.

  • Families + Caregivers

I see each family as a system. Each member of the family contributes and connects to that system differently, depending on a variety of factors that have informed their life thus far. Sometimes family work is conducted with all members, other times with only specific members, or a combination. I approach family work using Internal Family Systems (IFS) and attachment theory. Caregiver/Parent support is available as ongoing support sessions, and can complement child or family therapy.
